Meet Abigail

Abigail is a sweet 6-year-old girl who is ready to discover what it means to be a dog—and she’s doing it one brave step at a time! Abigail’s early life is a mystery. She was found as a stray and, not long afterward, welcomed four puppies into the world. We may never know where she came from or what she experienced before arriving in foster care, but we do know that she is learning that life can be safe, comfortable, and full of good things. Abigail is 32 pounds, and could use to gain a few more pounds now that she is done caring for her babies. She is spayed and currently living with dogs, cats, and children, doing well with everyone. She can be a little shy and reserved when she first meets someone, but once she has time to get comfortable, her sweet personality starts to shine. She is still learning about the world around her and figuring out how to play, explore, and simply enjoy being a dog. She is also working on crate training and housetraining and making steady progress. Like any dog learning new skills, Abigail will need a patient family who understands that confidence and trust take time.
