Meet Aioli

This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, October 17th from 12PM – 3PM (unless adopted prior to the event). 3910 Middlefield Road All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption. Adoption fee: $800 Beurre Blanc & Aioli: Small Batch, Extra Sweet 10 weeks old * Maltese/Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mixes * ~3 lbs Some sauces require constant stirring. These two mostly require toys, gentle cuddles, and an occasional reminder that outdoor playtime does, eventually, have to end. Meet Beurre Blanc and Aioli, two tiny girls who came to DPS from a hoarding situation and are now sampling all the good things puppy life has to offer. They are so small, soft, and outrageously cute that their foster family jokes they must be AI-generated. But these little noses and busy paws are very real (as are their website photos!) —and so are their delightful personalities. Aioli: A Little Dollop of Love Aioli is a sweet, gentle girl whose recipe calls for equal parts playtime and snuggle time. She loves joining the fun, but she is just as happy settling in for a cuddle and enjoying your company. If your ideal puppy can make a toy look exciting and then make your lap feel like the best place in the world, Aioli would like to submit her application. Beurre Blanc: Tiny but Mighty Beurre Blanc brings a little extra sizzle to the menu. Energetic, playful, and always interested in a good game of chase, she has no trouble keeping up with the resident dog, Bosco. She enjoys cuddles, too—but first, there may be a very pressing matter involving another lap around the yard. Getting Beurre Blanc back inside sometimes requires catching a tiny girl who is quite certain the party is still happening outdoors. Her foster is working on “come,” but at ten weeks old, she remains a toddler with paws and a competing agenda. Life in the Test Kitchen Both girls are very quiet in their exercise pen and do a lovely job entertaining themselves with toys. When they play together or with Bosco, their little vocalizations sound like buzzing bees—a miniature soundtrack to some very enthusiastic puppy games. They enjoy going outside to play, potty, and relax, and they seem equally content hanging out indoors. In their foster home, they currently graze on kibble rather than eat at set mealtimes. Although they love each other’s company, their foster has been giving them separate time to build independence. So far, each has handled that well, often settling onto a dog bed to rest when her sister is away. They have also gotten along nicely with Bosco and could enjoy a compatible canine companion in their adoptive homes. Each girl will be adopted separately and can continue learning to feel comfortable on her own. Little Paws, Big Learning Curve These girls are making a promising start with potty training: they use their pee pads well and usually potty promptly when taken outside. They are still tiny babies, though, so frequent breaks, supervision, and a consistent routine will be part of helping them succeed. They have not started leash walks yet, and their families will get to introduce them to that whole new adventure. For now, toys and teething toys are their preferred chewing outlets, and their foster has not noticed digging or troublesome barking. Their Perfect Pairing Aioli and Beurre Blanc could each thrive with a family ready for puppy play, patient training, and plenty of affection. Their size does call for a little extra awareness: these girls are quick, dart underfoot, and can be easy to miss. Homes with very young children will need especially careful supervision and gentle handling. Whether you prefer Aioli’s sweet, cuddly charm or Beurre Blanc’s spirited approach to recreation, each girl offers a generous helping of happiness in a very small package. Choose your sauce. Prepare to fall in love.
