Meet Augie

Howdy! My name is Augie, I am a 9 month old, neutered male, Pitbull mix that can grow to be around 60lbs as an adult. I am a friendly dude that starts off a bit shy and cautious. Because of this, I prefer adult-only households or ones with teens or older. Once I'm comfortable, my playful and energetic side comes out and I'll happily show off by running zoomies! I'm still young, so I'll need lots of guidance as I grow from puppyhood into adulthood. I can be a little unsure of new things, but with patience, reassurance, and a little time, I'll sure blossom into a wonderful, interactive companion. Here's an update from my foster family: Augie is a sweet, affectionate and energetic pup who is learning how wonderful life in a loving home can be. Once he feels safe, his playful personality shines—he loves cuddles, head and ear massages, lounging beside his people, exploring outdoors, playing with dog friends and, of course, zoomies! Augie is smart and eager to learn. He knows several basic cues, is crate trained, walks nicely when calm, and is making great progress with house-training. He can be cautious in new situations and feels most secure when his trusted humans are nearby. Augie is still a young, strong puppy who needs continued training, structure and socialization. He can pull and lunge toward dogs and squirrels on walks, gets very excited and mouthy during play, and is an enthusiastic chewer. For these reasons, Augie would thrive in an experienced, adult-only home, ideally with a secure backyard and plenty of opportunities for exercise and enrichment. His adopters should be comfortable handling a strong dog and committed to positive behavior training. Augie has already come such a long way. He now understands the comfort of a home, regular meals, walks, cuddles and kindness—and, most importantly, he knows what it feels like to be loved. With patience and continued training, Augie has all the potential to become a wonderfully loyal and loving companion.
