Meet Bubba

Meet Bubba! Bubba may have had a rough start, but you would never know it by his happy, playful personality. This handsome, little guy came into the city shelter at just 4 weeks old, weighing less than a pound. After struggling early on, he was diagnosed with Megaesophagus, which simply means he needs to eat in an upright position and remain upright for about 20–30 minutes after meals. His foster mom purchased him a Bailey chair, and he's become an absolute pro at mealtime. To Bubba, it's just part of his routine—and it certainly hasn't slowed him down! He is now 10 months old and weighs 20 pounds. He won't be getting much bigger. Bubba loves to play with other dogs and has done wonderfully living with cats in his foster home. He's a social, affectionate pup who's always ready for fun. Bubba enjoys being outside chasing flies and any other kind of flying insect. Although, he does prefer being inside most of all with his humans. He's also developed great house manners. Bubba wakes up when he hears his foster mom getting ready for work, rides beautifully in the car, and patiently sits or stands while waiting to arrive at his destination. At bedtime, he's happy to settle into his kennel around 10:00–10:30 p.m. and rarely has accidents overnight. Bubba doesn't let his diagnosis define him. He simply needs a family willing to spend a little extra time with him at mealtime in exchange for a lifetime of unconditional love, loyalty, and plenty of laughs.
