Meet Bucket

Insights from my adventure buddies or foster friends: Bucket is an absolute angel who just needs someone who is willing to be patient and gracious as she realizes that humans can be safe places. We spent almost four days with Bucket and I am so proud of how much she had grown throughout our time together. Bucket is a shy, fearful girl, who can get spooked pretty easily. When we first picked her up from the shelter, she was almost catatonic from how anxious she was, but after just four short days together, she made amazing progress. Our first day, she slept the entire time. The second day, she took an interest in toys and treats. The third day she was exploring the house and wagging her tail whenever we gave her some love. Our last day together she did excellent riding in the car and cuddling up with us before we had to say goodbye. Bucket slept through the night each time and often would sleep borderline on top me. She was very curious, and I’m so glad she felt safe enough to let out her personality a bit with us. Even though Bucket was afraid, she was still so sweet. She never growled, barked, or acted agitated towards us. After she warmed up to us a bit, petting her would often lead to her licking your hand and asking for more pets. She didn’t care if you touched her face, tail, paws, nose- she was chill with however you wanted to pet her. She is so brave and it is clear she really wants to accept love. I cannot stress enough how much she melted my heart.
