Meet Buddy, a beautiful one-year-old boy with the saddest, most soulful eyes and the gentlest heart you could ever hope to meet. Weighing about 50 pounds, his long legs, slender build, and gorgeous coloring make him striking, but it’s his sweet, tender spirit that truly shines. Buddy is house trained, crate trained, quiet, and wonderfully well-mannered. Buddy is still learning that the world is a safe and loving place. Each day, with patience and encouragement, he grows a little braver and lets more of his precious personality shine through. He absolutely adores other dogs and takes great comfort in their companionship, so he must have a playful canine friend in his forever home. He is fantastic with dogs of all sizes and will thrive in a home with a securely fenced 6-foot yard where he can run and play. In his foster home, the youngest family member lovingly nicknamed him “Buddy” because, in his words, “we’re best buddies.” The name could not suit him better. Buddy is incredibly gentle with children, happily soaking up hugs and cuddles, and he doesn’t mind being picked up. He has not a mean bone in his body and completely ignores cats. Buddy has recently discovered the joy of toys and now delights in carrying around stuffies—though sturdy toys and chew bones last much longer! He is doing wonderfully with leash walking and continues to blossom every day.
