Meet Calvin

🚨CALVIN IS STILL URGENTLY LOOKING FOR AN ADOPTER The shelter is getting hard on Calvin. Kennel stress is setting in, and we need to get this boy into a home. But here’s what we really want people to understand: the dog you see in the kennel is not the whole Calvin. Once he gets away from the noise and confinement, he starts to relax—and his personality comes out. On his latest outing, his volunteer reported: “Calvin let me see his personality on this outing. He did a lot more sniffing and exploring than he did last time. He was goofy and fun but still very polite. He was interested in runners and a small child, but just watched and didn’t get excited or try to follow.” THAT is Calvin. A goofy, curious boy who wants to explore, roll around in the grass, sniff everything and enjoy being a dog. Even with runners and a small child nearby, he simply observed them without getting worked up. Calvin has also done well playing with other dogs at the shelter, although we always recommend a proper introduction with resident dogs. What Calvin needs now isn't another enrichment toy or another attempt to make kennel life easier. He needs OUT. He needs a person. He needs a home where this relaxed, silly version of Calvin gets to become his everyday self. Please don't judge him by how he acts behind a kennel door. Come take Calvin outside and meet the dog we're seeing. East Ridge Animal Services Adoption fee: $75 Monday–Friday, 10 AM–5 PM Open the 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month
