Meet Candy

Candy is a 3-year-old female who would love to add some cute quirkiness to your household. This 13ish pound dachshund mix is named for the Dolly Parton song "Hard Candy Christmas." Like Dolly, she's from the Smokies, and like in the song, she's had a rough start to life, but her future is full of possibilities. She loves cheese, celery and playing with a stuffed pig. Candy has opened up a lot with the help of role model doggo siblings and a stable home environment. She is not a cuddler, but she now enjoys pets (only on the couch) and will occasionally take a treat in the presence of her foster parents (though mostly prefers to eat in the safety of her crate).Candy is crate-trained, and, with regular outdoor potty breaks, house-trained. Candy needs a fur-ever home with at least one other dog and a fenced-in yard. While she is working on her leash skills, she is not there yet. She will take a while to warm up in a new home, but will reward patient humans willing to give her space with adorable antics. Candy is up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, dewormed, started on monthly flea and heartworm prevention and her adoption fee is $200.
