Meet Charlie #28

Charlie is a sweet, smart boy who had a rough start in life. He was abandoned last November, but he was saved by a good neighbor. He is absolutely charming! He loves most people once he gets to know them (after about 5 minutes). Charlie is still young and has a fair amount of energy, but not too much. He absolutely loves carrying around his squeaky toys but rarely destroys them. He loves car rides, walks, and runs, so he would love an active person/family. He likes to play with other dogs his size, but his play can get rough at times. Charlie is house trained and doggy door trained. He enjoys chasing lizards, birds, ground squirrels, etc. He is looking for a home where he gets food, some exercise, and affection-- all the best things in life. He should be the only pet and is untested with kids. However, older kids would probably be okay. Charlie is smart and knows sit and wait, and he walks fairly well on a leash. He seems to do okay when left alone (no separation anxiety, not destructive), but he currently has people around him most of the time. His off leash recall is fairly good, but he hasn't been tested under challenging circumstances. Charlie is a lover and protective of his people and property. He is a very good watch dog, so he needs a slow introduction to unfamiliar people or dogs entering his space. Charlie would do great with an active family who can work with him to acclimate to his new family. Meet Charlie today!
