Chico is a 2-year-old Heeler with a big personality and an even bigger heart. After spending time as a stray, he's learning what it means to be part of a family and enjoys being close to his people. He's affectionate, loyal, and loves companionship once he's comfortable with you. Like many intelligent working breeds, Chico values his personal space and isn't always a fan of being handled or restrained. He can be sensitive about certain interactions and will do best with an experienced owner who understands dog body language and is willing to build trust at his pace. Chico is looking for a patient, confident adopter who can provide structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement training. In return, he'll be a devoted companion with plenty of character and spirit. Because of his handling sensitivities, a home without young children may be the best fit. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if over 2 years old), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet Reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the dog of your choice.
