At only seven months old, Chispita is still a young dog with an entire lifetime ahead of her. She is sweet, loving, and affectionate, and she enjoys the simple things that make dogs happiest—spending time with people, receiving attention, playing, exploring, and feeling like she's part of the family. Chispita has a warm personality that makes her easy to love. She's at a wonderful age where her personality is beginning to blossom, but she's still young enough for her future family to play an important role in helping her develop into a confident, well-mannered adult. As a Carolina Dog / Terrier Mix, Chispita may combine the intelligence, loyalty, and athletic nature of the Carolina Dog with the Terrier's curiosity, confidence, and playful spirit. These traits can make for a wonderful companion who enjoys being active but also forms a strong bond with her people. At approximately 29 pounds currently, Chispita is a medium-sized young dog who may still have some growing to do. She's still learning, developing, and figuring out what is expected of her. Her future family should be prepared to continue working on basic obedience, leash skills, household manners, and any house-training she may need. Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to start understanding her new household routine 3 Months to settle in, build trust, and truly feel at home Chispita will benefit from positive reinforcement training, consistent boundaries, and plenty of encouragement. Short training sessions, interactive toys, sniffing walks, and games are great ways to keep a young dog physically and mentally engaged. Like any rescue dog, Chispita should be given time to adjust at her own pace. Her loving nature may appear quickly, but developing complete trust and understanding a new routine can take time. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Chispita is already spayed and vaccinated, giving her a great start toward a healthy future.
