Meet Rocco
Rocco’s journey to us began with a lifesaving act of compassion. Our friends at DaisyLu Ranch, a senior dog rescue in Camarillo, spotted a video of Rocco at the South LA shelter and knew they couldn’t turn away. He had clearly lived a rough life and was moments from euthanasia, so they stepped in and saved him. Now 8 years old and about 95 pounds, Rocco is everything people love about a big dog with an even bigger heart. He’s quiet, affectionate, and happiest when he’s near his people or chasing after a tennis ball. His bloodwork and dental exam came back great, and he’s fully vetted and ready for his next chapter. Rocco seems comfortable around calm, large-breed dogs, but he is not a fit for homes with small dogs. Because DaisyLu specializes in small seniors, Rocco didn’t have the environment he needed to thrive. We partnered with them to give him a fresh start, and he is now safe in a foster home while we search for the family he’s always deserved. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, ball-chasing buddy who just wants to be part of your world, Rocco may be your perfect match. If you think you might be the one for this gentle giant, we’d love to introduce you. Please visit http://www.coastalk9gsrsd.org/to learn more about our dogs. Don't forget to fill out our online application. The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers. We show our dogs at adoption events every weekend! Check our our website to see where we'll be next! Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California is a non-profit 501(c)3 public charity dedicated to finding loving homes for abandoned German Shepherds. Your tax deductible donations go to support these very deserving animals. Coastal was formed to serve communities in the counties of San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. We are committed to finding loving permanent homes for the orphaned dogs in our care. Coastal is an all volunteer, no-kill, 501 (c) 3 non profit organization.
