Meet Ribeye
Originally surrendered to an animal control officer in rural South Carolina, Ribeye was living in an extreme neglect environment. But we are not focusing on Ribeye's past life; it is his new chapter that warrants telling. Here is what living with him has revealed: RIBEYE'S FAVORITE THINGS: * Belly Rubs, Butt Scratches * CHILDREN * KITTY CATS * Suppertime * Being Nosy, Peeping at people showering * The Great Outdoors * Singing (his and mine) * The Couch, The Big Bed * His Crate What we are working on: * Basic commands ; sit, wait, leave it, watch me * leash walking * acclimating to car rides * gently accepting treats * shake paw "Ribs" is roughly 7-10 years old, housebroken, not guard dog material lol, adores kids, likes kitties, very quiet, well mannered. Ribs enjoys his crate and often reclines in it at his leisure. We could easily remove the crate, as he settles easily and is not destructive when left alone. When he came into our care, he had yeast, skin, and ear issues, but with weekly medicated baths, ear cleaning, and (more importantly) proper nutrition, his skin and ears are remarkably improved. Ribs would be a wonderful family dog...but an only dog. He displays dominate tendencies, as the resident dog is currently experiencing some bullying from Ribeye; we suspect this is temporary, given his recent history and food insecurity, so we are being mindful of placement. Ribeye's adoption fee is $100.
