Meet Edie

Edie is the little queen of our SBACC dog office. One look at her adorable underbite and you are willing to pledge your allegiance! She is a 9 year old Chihuahua whose owner could no longer care for her. This girl loves her carriage (stroller) rides, sitting up above the other dogs, so regal. She’ll typically ride in the stroller for the first part of the office walk, then once we turn around she tends to get up and walk the rest of the way home. Edie is smart enough to know that we have to go up the big hill on the way out, but on the way back she can just coast down it! Edie is very affectionate with her people, she gets so excited to see her friends! She will make a great companion. While she loves people, she mostly just tolerates the other dogs in the office, so she would probably prefer to go home alone where she can be the princess she knows that she is! Her first night with us, she had a seizure. Edie had been on a medical hold as she started seizure medication so that she could be monitored. Seizure medication will be a lifelong need of hers, to manage her focal seizures. She also had some masses we wanted to remove, as well as a nasty mouth that needed some work! The masses were removed and benign, and her poor mouth was finally addressed. Little Miss Edie Linguini now only has one tooth in that cute little head of hers. Now, she only lost about 14 teeth, which is a lot, but that means that the other half of her teeth had already rotted out on their own. Poor girl had probably never had a dental in her life. Now she is ready to find a kingdom of her own to rule. We will miss her silly antics so much, but hope to see her find a loving home. A loving family to bring so much joy to, as she does for all of us here at the shelter. She is a very special girl!
