Meet Benson
Hi, I'm Benson, and I am 7 years old! I am a sweet, friendly guy that is shy to warm up at first, but I am a big lover when you get to know me! I am a good mannered and well trained dog that is housetrained and good with calmer dogs and older children. I lived with a dachshund in my home I was surrendered from, but I was really, really shy of the young kids there, so I did not make a good fit. I have a shy personality, and I have had a past that brings some trauma. I will flinch if you raise your hand or make loud noises. Our staff here was doing a regular dog shelter intake, and I flinched at every turn, and when the stapler was set back on the table, I dropped to the ground like I had personally been struck... So I have some past trauma that I will need a patient and accepting family to let me learn how to love again. When I warm up to you, I want nothing more than to curl up in your lap and to be loved. While toys do not really interest me, I do like food! I walk well on a leash and I know how to sit, stay, down and come! I am ready to find my furever family... Please come visit me! Give the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at info@awlwarsaw.com if you have any questions about me! If not, stop by the shelter at 1048 S 325 E in Pierceton, IN 46562 to look at me! No appointments necessary!
