Meet Poppy
Poppy was surrendered by breeders as she had become too old for their needs. The breeder did at some point, have all her teeth extracted, so now she has permanent tongue out. Despite the lack of respect for her life, she is the absolute sweetest little girl and loves to be held and to sleep on your chest with her head on your neck. And in true Pomeranian fashion, she can be independent and sometimes aloof. But always very sweet. She's not fond of a crate, spent too much time in one, but she will settle down in one. She would just rather always be with her people. When being crated is about the only time she makes a peep. She does not want to miss out on what's going on. She is currently with a foster who is working on house-training. You can imagine, she spent her life outside in a kennel, she never received that training. The reports on her age vary but her vet confirms she is healthy. Her heart is good and she is full of energy. She would be best with someone retired or who is home most of the time. She has learned to walk on a leash and likes to go for walks. Age: approx.12 years Weight: approx. 7 lbs Temperament: Gets along with other dogs, older respectful kids Training: working on house-training and crate acceptance, learning to walk on leash. Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions: pheiges@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.
