COCOA IS WAITING FOR HIS SECOND CHANCE At 6 years old, Cocoa should be spending his days stretched out on a cozy couch, soaking up love and enjoying the comfort of a family. Instead, this sweet chocolate Lab finds himself waiting in a shelter through no fault of his own. Cocoa came to us after his owner could no longer care for him due to medical circumstances. It’s clear this boy was deeply loved, and despite the changes in his life, he has remained the same gentle, kind-hearted soul. As he starts to approach his senior years, Cocoa’s pace is a little slower than it once was—but his spirit is just as bright. He still enjoys spending time in the yard with other dogs, happily wagging his tail and greeting everyone with gentle kisses. He mostly minds his own business, content to enjoy the simple things in life, but he never misses an opportunity to share affection with a canine friend or a human willing to sit beside him. There’s something incredibly special about dogs like Cocoa. They ask for so little and give so much in return. A soft bed. A loving hand. A family to call their own.
