Meet Comet

Meet Comet. A Good Samaritan stepped in after realizing that a large group of adult dogs and puppies living in a home, who had too many dogs, had become seriously ill with parvovirus. The homeowners agreed to surrender the dogs to us so they could finally receive the care they desperately needed. Comet arrived with his sister, at only 10 weeks old, and both puppies were extremely sick. They were immediately taken to our vet for treatment, but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, Comet’s sister passed away the following morning. Somehow, sweet little Comet fought his way through parvo and is now healthy, happy, and ready to find the loving home he has always deserved. Comet is a Shih Tzu/Maltese mix who is nothing but LOVE. He has all the typical puppy energy and playfulness you would expect from a young pup, but underneath all that puppy fun is a sweet little guy who has already been through far more than any puppy should. Because of Comet’s breed mix, his new family will need to be committed to consistent grooming and regular brushing to keep his coat healthy, comfortable, and mat-free. This is an important part of caring for a Shih Tzu/Maltese mix and should be considered before applying. He is also hypoallergenic (don't shed). Comet is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and current on heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. His adoption fee is $500. Apply at www.adoggie4you.org Comet is currently in Texas, but he can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, KY, or locations along the East Coast. Transport is an additional $250. Please note: We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.
