Meet Dakota

Hi, I’m Dakota! I’m a 3‑year‑old, 18‑pound Boston girl with fun, happy‑go‑lucky energy and a whole lot of love to give. I’m the kind of dog who does little happy dances whenever I meet someone — whether you’re walking through the door or passing me on the sidewalk, I’m thrilled to see you. I’m great with all sorts of people, and I adore kids and seniors. I’m a joyful girl, but sometimes I get a little too excited and need help settling down. Big changes can make me anxious, and when I’m worried, my tummy can get upset. But once I have a predictable routine with plenty of chances to rest and relax, I’m my best self — cheerful, confident, and ready for fun. I’m moderately high‑energy, and I love stalking squirrels in the backyard like it’s my personal mission. But honestly? A nice 30–40 minute walk each day is plenty to keep me happy. After that, I’m all about cuddling. Snuggling on the couch with you is one of my favorite things in the world. I’m easy to handle and very well‑behaved for baths, ear cleaning, and nail trims. I’m fully trained, have great manners on leash, and I’m crate trained. I come when called, know my basic obedience, and I’ve never had an accident or destroyed anything in the house. After a little adjustment period, I can be trusted outside of my crate like a perfect lady. When it comes to dog friends, I’d prefer a larger, older male dog who gives me space and lets me be myself. I’m polite, but I know what makes me comfortable. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, affectionate girl with a joyful spirit and wonderful manners, I might be the perfect match. My adoption fee is $400. We are always looking for good foster homes. These homes allow us to rescue more Boston Terriers in need because we have a place for them to go until they are adopted.
