Meet Darla

Meet Darla (A575218)! ?? A 1 year old, female 49 lb German Shepherd Dog. A stunning girl with a heart of gold who is ready to find her forever human! ???Darla is a young, high-energy pup who gives the *absolute best hugs* and has a way of staring straight into your soul. She has a rare gift for making an instant, deep connection with people from the moment they meet her. All she desperately wants is to be chosen. What Makes Darla Special??? Deeply Affectionate: Darla connects on a profound level. Once her zoomies are out, she loves nothing more than settling down for a good, relaxing massage.?? Playful & Social: Outdoors, Darla truly brightens up! She showed sweet, playful interest in another dog, Blaze, and would thrive in a home where she can stretch her long legs and run!**As always slow and thoughtful introductions to resident animals after decompression are always recommended ?? Highly Motivated: She loves food, but she loves playtime and human affection even more! Her Ideal Home & Needs ??:A secure yard: Darla is a high-energy breed who craves space to run, play, and burn off her youthful excitement.??????? Patient Guidance & Training: Darla knows how to `sit` (and eventually will when asked ??!), but she lacks formal training. When she gets excited, she can get jumpy and mouthy, so she needs an adoptive family willing to take the time to work on her manners using positive reinforcement.?? Understanding of Kennel Stress: In her kennel, Darla can get a bit stressed when other dogs walk by—the shelter environment is tough on a young, energetic dog like her, and it's beginning to wear on her spirit. But once she steps outside, her true, bright personality shines through! Darla is an extraordinary, loving companion waiting for the right person to see just how special she is. Let’s get this wonderful girl out of the shelter and into the loving home she deserves!? Please note: This is a volunteer's experience. The shelter can be a stressful and scary place, and a dog’s behavior here may not fully reflect how they’ll blossom once they feel safe and decompressed at home. Darla is available to foster or adopt at Prince George’s County Animal Shelter located at 3750 Brown Station Road Upper Marlboro, MDReel-https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1UszVkSR3R/
