Meet Darla

Meet Darla! At about 2 years old and 50 pounds, Darla is equal parts playful, goofy, and incredibly affectionate. She’s a soft-hearted girl with soulful eyes, expressive ears, and a whole lot of personality. Darla is a true velcro dog who loves being close to her people. If you’re sitting on the couch, she wants to be beside you. If you’re moving around the house, there’s a good chance she’ll be following along. She absolutely loves cuddling and being part of whatever her people are doing. She also has plenty of young-dog energy and enjoys getting outside, playing, and chewing on her toys. A fenced yard is not required, but it would definitely be a bonus and give her a great place to safely burn off some of that energy. Darla is house-trained, crate-trained, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. She is smart, eager to please, and has come a long way as she continues learning how to navigate the world around her. Darla does have some anxiety, particularly in new or busy environments, but she is doing very well on daily medication. She will benefit from a family who understands that she may need a little patience and reassurance while she gets comfortable. When it comes to other dogs, Darla is dog selective, so any potential canine siblings would need to be considered carefully to make sure everyone is comfortable. Darla has a fun, energetic side, but at the end of the day, what she really wants is to be with her people. She’s ready for a home where she can feel secure, get plenty of playtime, and have people of her own to cuddle. If you’re looking for an affectionate, loyal companion who wants to be right by your side, Darla may be your girl. ❤️ The adoption fee is $400, which covers vetting, microchip and the spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue-affiliated vet.
