Meet Dixie

WATCH MY VIDEO...Beautiful Dixie is an adorable black Lab mix who is hoping someone will give her the second chance she deserves. She was surrendered because her owners simply did not have enough time for her. It is heartbreaking when a dog as special as Dixie loses her home because of circumstances that are completely beyond her control. Dixie truly has a stellar profile. She is great with adults, children age 3 and older, dogs and cats. Her former family described her as affectionate, very vocal and extremely active. She loves toys, loves treats and is definitely a foodie who will happily work for something delicious. Dixie already knows some important household manners. She knows how to go to her bed and sit, and she understands the word potty when it is time to go outside. She is ready to continue learning and would love a family who enjoys keeping her active and engaged. Our staff and volunteers describe Dixie as a friendly, energetic girl who readily solicits attention and enjoys active play. She is easy to get into her collar and leash, although she does pull when walking. A harness and some additional leash training will help her become a more comfortable walking companion. Dixie is an active girl who will need frequent exercise, playtime and plenty of interaction with her family. In return, she promises to bring plenty of personality, affection and fun into your life. Dixie has so much going for her. She loves people, gets along with dogs and cats, enjoys toys, loves treats and already knows some basic commands. All she needs now is someone who has the time to appreciate this wonderful girl and give her the loving, active home she deserves.
