Meet Dixie

Meet Dixie. This little girl had a rough start when she was found with her canine companion, Pixie. They were found as strays and wandering the streets and both where extremely emaciated. Dixie was restored to good health and a healthy weight and is ready to find the forever family of her dreams. Dixie is a 6-month-old Plot Hound mix. She currently weighs 12 pounds and is expected to be a medium-size dog of anywhere under 60 pounds when fully grown. She is a great with other dogs and children but has not had the opportunity to meet a cat since coming into rescue. Dixie is young and full of puppy energy and puppy antics. She looks forward to a life of adventure with her family by her side. Balls, toys and romps in the yard will make a great day in the life of Dixie. Good times and Dixie go hand in hand. Big hearts and big dreams are what Dixie is all about. She finds love wherever she goes. Her future family will certainly feel the love of Dixie each and every day. Along with her big heart Dixie has lots of determination. She is working on her house, crate and leash training skills. She will work hard on each skill until she reaches her goal. Dixie left the streets behind but her good nature and loving personality has not been diminished. She has high hopes and great expectations to fill in the new chapter of her life. Her happiness will be secured with the foundation of a loving and supportive family. * Please keep in mind when considering adoption, dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust significantly better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Dixie is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.
