Meet Donnie

Meet Donnie! Donnie is a 2-year-old, 11 lb. Chihuahua/Pekingese mix with a big heart and a whole lot of love to give. This sweet little guy is happiest when he’s close to his person and included in everyday life. He loves affection, bonds deeply with his people, and makes a wonderful little sidekick for dog-friendly adventures. Coffee shops, patio lunches, walks around the neighborhood—Donnie is happy to tag along and be part of the fun. Donnie thrives on consistency, routine, and reassurance. He can be a little cautious in unfamiliar situations and around some new people, but with patience and positive experiences, his confidence continues to grow. He especially enjoys his morning and evening walks and is still getting comfortable with leash walking and new environments. One of the most important things to know about Donnie is that he must be adopted into a home with another friendly, compatible dog. Canine companionship helps him feel secure and comfortable, and he does not do well as an only dog. A confident dog buddy would be an important part of helping Donnie settle into his new home. Donnie is still working on potty training and is making good progress with a consistent routine. He uses pee pads during the day and will need a family willing to continue reinforcing his training. Because quick movements and lots of noise can make him nervous, he would likely be happiest in a calmer home. He has not shown aggression toward children, but a home without young children may be the best fit. His experience with cats is unknown. Donnie is a gentle, loving little companion who just wants to feel safe, be close to his people, and have a dog friend by his side. With consistency, affection, and a little patience, he is going to make someone an incredibly devoted best friend. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $300.
