Duke is a deeply loyal, affectionate dog around those he trusts. He minds fairly well, but not consistently, and he won't stop barking when you tell him to. He's pretty head strong. But, he is very loving, especially in the morning and evening. Duke plays well with other dogs, even the little ones. One of his favorite pastimes is destroying toys, but he will eat just about anything he comes across (sticks, Kleenex, paper, etc.), so make sure to be vigilant to what is left out. Duke would do well with a confident and strong person who has time to train him. Someone who will work through his territorial traits. He 'nips' when you do something he doesn't like. Usually this happens around "his room" or his person that he has taken a strong liking to. Duke would make someone an amazing dog.
