Meet Duke

Hi there! My name is Duke, and I’m a handsome shepherd mix who made my way to Buffalo Cares so I could find my forever family—maybe that’s you! I’m a pretty smart pup (if I do say so myself ). I already know “sit” and “lay down”… especially if you mention treats—did someone say treats?! I LOVE them and will do my very best to impress you. I’m doing awesome with potty training and learning that leashes mean fun adventures. At bedtime, I’m a good boy in my crate, and during the day I go in and out of it like a pro. I currently live with two male dogs and a bunch of kids (ages 4–12), and I absolutely soak up all the love and attention I can get. I do have a soft spot for the 4-year-old—she gives the best hugs and has the coziest lap ever! I’m working on fetch… I mean, I LOVE running after the ball, I’m just not totally convinced I should give it back yet . Toys are my favorite, and puzzle games are at the top of my list—I’m always up for a challenge, especially if there are tasty rewards involved!
