Meet Duncan Hines

Duncan is a gentle male hound who is looking for a patient, loving heart to help him write his next chapter. Duncan is a sweet, quiet soul who hasn't had the easiest start in life. He is naturally timid and shy, preferring to observe the world from a safe distance. Day by day, he is learning what it means to be a pet and is becoming accustomed to the comforts of home life. Duncan's timidness makes house training a little difficult at first, He loves to take leash walks, making his daily care easy and enjoyable. He is incredibly friendly with other animals and gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes, making him a great fit for a home with existing calm pets. Duncan has not been tested with cats but he doesn't seem like he would bother them. He loves having his own quiet space and thrives when curled up on a soft, comfy bed (yours is preferred) Because the world can still feel a bit overwhelming to him, Duncan needs a quiet household with an adopter who understands that trust takes time. He won't be a dog that rushes to the door to greet strangers but once he knows he is safe, his loyalty is absolute. If you have a calm environment and plenty of love to give, watching this resilient hound blossom into your loyal companion will be the most rewarding journey you will ever take. Duncan is heartworm positive. He can be adopted during treatment if his adopter is local to Tampa Bay and is willing to transport him to his vet appointment.
