Meet Emmett

Emmett arrived from the city pound on 7/12/2025, making him another long-term resident. He was taken to the pound after being found tied to a table at a local park. He is approximately 3 years old and his genetic makeup is truly a mystery. There could be hound, shepherd, lab, or even herding breeds. Confusing us even more about his breed mix, he also has prominent double dewclaws on his hind feet. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped, and his fee is $150. Emmett is a bit unsure of himself and can be quite shy at first, so he will need plenty of time and patience. He has shown that he has the potential to be a loving, goofy dog. He will need regular exercise and basic training in all areas. However, we think he has the potential to be a fun companion. He does appear to be okay with other dogs. We don't know about cats at all and we're thinking an adult only home would be best. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
