Meet Emmi

Emmi is one of those dogs you can't help but stop and look at. This beautiful 3-year-old, 64-pound, brindle Cane Corso has a face that almost reminds you of a Boxer, and a gorgeous striped body that makes her look like a little jungle cat. Her unique way of moving only adds to her charm. We don't know what Emmi's life was like before she arrived at the shelter. She often moves in a low, crouched posture, which could simply be nervousness in the shelter environment. Sometimes you can't help but wonder if this sweet girl had a pretty limited world before coming here. Because right now, everything seems new to Emmi. She wants to sniff EVERYTHING. She stops. She starts. She explores. She takes in every smell and every little piece of this big new world around her. Watching her curiosity come alive is incredibly sweet. Emmi may have been a mama at some point, but now it's time for someone to take care of her. She is sweet, loving, curious, and gentle when taking treats. She definitely needs some work on her leash manners as she can start and stop suddenly and pulls a bit, but she seems eager to explore and learn. There's something especially touching about watching a dog discover that the world can be interesting and beautiful. For Emmi, everything is beautiful and new.
