Meet Fiona

Meet Fiona! A spirited three-year-old American Pitbull Terrier currently in Vancouver, WA, whose essence is a joyful blend of affection, curiosity, and playful enthusiasm wrapped in a beautiful tan coat with white accents. At about 45 pounds, Fiona is a medium-sized girl with a big personality and an even bigger love for her people! She is happiest close to her favorite humans, whether she is curled up by their feet, stretched out beside them on the couch, or resting her head contentedly in a lap. When playtime arrives, Fiona is ready! She is an excellent frisbee catcher who also enjoys tug-of-war, chew time, sniffing adventures, and car rides. Fiona is house-trained, crate-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She knows sit, down, touch, come, place, kennel, wait, and free dog! She is enthusiastic about learning and has made wonderful progress with consistent guidance. An experienced pet parent who enjoys positive reinforcement, clear boundaries, and continued training would help this energetic, sometimes pushy girl, keep building on those skills. Fiona needs to be the only dog in her new loving home. She has experienced serious conflicts with another dog, including a recent fight requiring veterinary care, and she can miss other dogs’ signals asking for space. She also had one minor bite incident involving a person while tension was occurring between dogs; the bite did not break the skin. Thoughtful management and avoiding risky dog interactions will be important. Fiona has spent time around cats without incident, although her compatibility with cats remains uncertain. She may be suitable for older children, but her strength and enthusiasm make homes with small children or people who could easily be knocked over unsuitable. Thunderstorms make Fiona nervous, and fireworks are especially stressful. She takes Apoquel for environmental allergies and has no other known medical concerns. Above all, Fiona is an intensely affectionate companion who loves being included in family life.
