Meet Georgie

GEORGIE NEEDS HIS UNICORN Georgie is a young, goofy, incredibly special boy who is looking for someone willing to give him the time and patience he needs to learn that not all people are bad. Georgie was abandoned by his owner, and somewhere along the way, he learned that people can’t always be trusted. But underneath that uncertainty is a really cool boy who wants to connect. He just needs the right person to show him what safety, patience, and love feel like.- He is very dog-friendly and seems to take his cues from his doggy friends. Having a confident canine companion may help him feel more comfortable.- He has especially bonded with the male in the home—even cuddling with him and sleeping beside him. That tells us there is a loving, trusting boy in there.- He LOVES water and loves to play!- He is VERY food motivated, which can be a wonderful tool for building trust and positive associations.- He has not been destructive in the home.- He has a blankie he loves—and, well… he would prefer that you not take it!- He does not like the crate.- He does not like going to the vet. This will take time. He is eager to learn! Georgie isn’t going to be the dog who immediately runs up to everyone and says hello. He needs someone who understands that trust is earned, not demanded. He needs someone who will let him decompress. Someone patient enough to celebrate the little victories. Someone who won’t give up when he takes a step backward. Someone who will let him come to them in his own time. He needs that one person. He needs a UNICORN.Georgie is young. He has so much life ahead of him, and I am praying that there is someone out there who will see what I see—a goofy, loving boy who has simply been let down by people and needs someone to finally show him that he is safe. Please don’t let Georgie’s fear be the end of his story.
