Meet Hank
Hi! My name is Hank and I am looking for a forever home. I was picked up by animal control and taken to a scary place called a shelter where, after my hold time was up and no one came to claim me, I was in danger of being placed on the euthanization list. Fortunately for me, a small local rescue saw me and contacted BCAA to see if they could help and they said yes! I appear to be a dachshund mix, maybe mixed with a little chihuahua and that is known as a chi-weenie. I'm around 2 years old so I'm past all of the puppy foolishness stage, and at just a little under 17lbs, I'm not too small and not too big ... I'm just right! When I first got into foster I was still reeling from all of the changes in my life so I was pretty scared; however, it didn't take me long to figure out my foster parents could be trusted and now I love getting attention from them (those treats helped, too!). I have gotten along with most all of the other dogs I have met (except for one bossy guy), and I haven't bothered those things called cats I have encountered. I have also done really well in my crate without any accidents or tearing up of any bedding, but I would really prefer to be out with you and will sometimes remind you not to forget about me if I see or hear you. Again, once I trust you I'm good on leash as I enjoy going on adventures. If you would like to learn more about me or meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.
