Meet Hannah

Hannah was rescued from Atascosa Animal Control, where she was on the euthanasia list and clear that she has had a very hard life. She came in unsure of people, scared and would shake out of being nervous. She is shy with first meeting new people, but it doesn't take long for her to warm up and once she does, she is the sweetest girl. She will greet you with tail wags and happy dances, wanting to be pet and loved on. Although it still may take some time before she fully adjust and gets comfortable in a new home. She doesn't bark much, seems mostly potty trained, and isn't too hyper or energetic. She is more on the mellow side, who likes to lounge around, but also can be playful with other dogs. She came in not knowing what a leash was. Our volunteers and staff have been working very hard training her on leash, and she is finally getting the hang of it. She prefers to be walked on with a harness, and does fantastic. Though, sometimes she may get spooked or overwhelmed, and roll over. She will just need more training as it takes time. Hannah is spayed, microchipped, current on her vaccines, 4DX tested, and protected with ProHeart 12 and Bravecto, and has even had a recent dental with cleaning and a few extractions. She did test positive for Ehrlichia and Anaplasmosis, both tick-borne diseases. There is no way to know when she was bitten by an infected tick, but the good news is that she is healthy and finished her course of antibiotics. Hannah is currently in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington (Kentucky), and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Due to state regulations, we are unable to transport dogs to Rhode Island or Massachusetts.
