Meet Harper

Harper – Attentive, Affectionate, and Playful Harper is a 1-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix weighing 53 pounds. Smart & Learning: Harper pulls excitedly on leash but is working on his manners. He knows “sit,” “down,” and “paw,” and is perfecting his “spin.” Affectionate: Once settled, Harper sploots nearby before coming over for snuggles. He enjoys neck scratches, leans into his handler for affection, and may even offer a sweet face kiss. He may become overly stimulated, so calm interactions help him shine. Playful: Harper loves to rag-doll a rope toy and enjoys treat-finding games, which are a great way to help him focus and settle. Potty Trained: During his foster stay, he demonstrated good house manners, scratching or whining at the door when he needed to go outside. Dog Social: Harper shows interest in other dogs but responds well to “leave it” and leash guidance. Harper will do best with appropriately matched dogs or as a solo dog with well-matched canine friends. A well-matched female dog may be his most successful canine companion.
