Meet Harry

Meet Harry! A spirited two-and-a-half-year-old Australian Cattle Dog/Labrador Retriever mix currently in Mission Viejo, CA, whose joyful personality comes wrapped in a handsome black tuxedo coat with charming white happy feet. At about 60 pounds, Harry is an outgoing, intelligent boy who brings enthusiasm to nearly everything he does! His favorite days start early with breakfast, a little training homework, and plenty of opportunities to stretch his legs. Walks, runs, dog park visits, squirrel watching, wrestling in the grass, fetching balls, chewing toys, and proudly collecting sticks from bushes all rank highly on Harry’s adventure list! Training is another favorite activity. Harry has completed the Puppy Raising program at Wags and Wiggles and is enrolled in Training for Life, with approximately six months remaining. He has also earned three levels of AKC Trick Dog certifications! His impressive vocabulary includes sit, down, stay, head down, spin, pop, say your prayers, fetch, come, heel, side, and loose leash walking. With his sensitivity, emotional intelligence, and eagerness to engage, Harry has wonderful potential to continue advancing through positive reinforcement training. Harry is friendly with strangers and happily approaches people for attention. He can comfortably spend up to eight hours alone and has shown no separation anxiety or destructive behavior. Around dogs, he is generally neutral but enjoys a good chase or wrestling match when friendship strikes! A playful canine companion with a similar style could be compatible. He has been calm and curious around a neighbor’s cat, although he has not lived with cats. Harry does well with calm, respectful older children. This active guy has a noticeable interest in rabbits and squirrels, so wildlife watching is serious business. Fortunately, he no longer bolts after them. When the adventures wind down, Harry enjoys cuddles and being included in family life. Harry is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and has no reported health concerns. He is also an enthusiastic eater who appreciates chicken, cheese, peanut butter, berries, oats, vegetables, fruits, and almost anything tasty!
