Havana is a 5-year-old, 13-pound long-haired Dachshund mix with a beautiful coat and an incredibly sweet personality. When Havana first came into rescue, she was terrified and unsure of everything around her. But it didn't take long for her foster family to discover the way to her heart—yummy treats! She responds quickly when there's a tasty snack involved, and she's learning that people can be trusted. Once she feels comfortable, Havana is quite the cuddler! She would love a quieter home where she can relax, hang out with her person, and enjoy the simple things in life. Havana is already a great little housemate. She is house broken, knows how to use the dog door, and does great in her kennel. She would be happy living in either a home or an apartment. Havana's perfect family will understand that she may need a little time to settle in and learn to trust. She isn't going to be the dog who immediately runs up to a stranger and acts like they've been best friends forever. But give her some patience, a few yummy treats, and some time to realize she's safe, and you'll discover the sweet, cuddly girl underneath that initial fear. If you're looking for a quiet little companion who will happily curl up beside you once she knows you're her person, Havana may be the perfect girl for you. ❤️ Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Her adoption fee is $200. This includes her spay surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Our adoption events are held every other Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232.
