Meet Hennesy

10/02 Doggie Day Out: Words to describe Hennesy: Energetic, sweet, athleticShe was just highly toy motivated (tennis ball or squeaky toys). So she wasn’t too concerned with being petted, exploring and smelling things, or even accepting treats or being around food. There was one instance while out on a walk, she saw a sort of “mysterious/suspicious ” person walking and this was the first and only time she got vocal and started to bark. I honestly took it as being protective as we walked by constructions workers, and was around adult men with no hesitation. So she is definitely aware of her surroundings. Although Hennessy didn’t show tons of affection or attention to humans (the priority was her ball) I truly believe with enough time she would eventually warm up to her new family and love to be apart of all the activities! I live about 30min away from the shelter, so the day began with a mini road trip! Seatbelt on, windows down and music on! Hennessy loved the wind in her face and wasn’t bothered by any loud sounds (motor cycles/emergency vehicles etc) once she was comfortable with her new surroundings and had her ball by her side, she found a comfy spot resting her head near the center console. And for the bulk of the day, we spent time playing fetch in the backyard, where she showed her true athleticism and stamina. Eventually we enjoyed a 30min walk. There was not much pulling, just a gentle lead and of course she brought her favorite toy along, then it was time to go home. I hope she had the best time, because I definitely did !
