Meet Hickory (F)

Meet Hickory! Hickory is a sweet, playful girl with a gentle spirit and a big desire to please. She can be a little timid when first introduced to new surroundings, but her curiosity quickly takes over. Give her a little time to take everything in, and her fun, affectionate personality begins to shine. Hickory does great with other dogs and especially loves spending time with her senior foster sibling. She’s also excited and interested when she sees other dogs out and about. She hasn’t had the opportunity to meet any cats yet. Like any young pup, Hickory has a good amount of playful energy and is still learning her manners. The wonderful thing about her is how well she listens! She responds beautifully to correction, is eager to cooperate, and already understands when it’s time to settle on her bed. She’s doing well with leash training, although walks are still a new experience. Passing cars can be scary for her, and she prefers to stop and wait until they’re gone before continuing. With patience and practice, she’s gaining confidence every day. Hickory is also working hard on potty training and understands that outside is the place to go, though she still has an occasional puppy mishap. She is wonderfully crate trained , settling quietly without barking or anxiety when her foster leaves or returns. At night, she’s done so well that she doesn’t really need the crate. Hickory is a smart, cooperative girl who wants nothing more than to make her people happy. With a family willing to continue building her confidence and showing her the ropes, she’s going to make a wonderful companion.
