Meet Hoagie

Hi! My name is Hoagie! I am a handsome 3-4 year old, large white boxer boy! Prior to rescue, I had a loving owner but sadly they passed away and the rescue kindly took me in. Now I am in a foster home and looking for my forever home! I am a pretty chill guy that likes to be close to humans! I am house trained, leash trained, and am trusted to roam the house freely since I voiced my displeasures when in the crate. Instead of sleeping in a crate at night I sleep on the couch or on a dog bed in the humans bedroom. I live with three kids (ages 11-16 years old) and I am gentle and welcome cuddles from them! I've not been around younger kids but my foster home thinks I would do well given my calm demeanour. I get along with the 45lb, 7 year old resident dog. I can be a bit pushy/energy seeking so a dog friend that is ok with me stealing some spotlight would work best! I am interested in other dogs when on my walks, but I don't get overly distracted or excited by them. There are no cats in my foster home so I am unsure if we would get along or not. When meeting strangers, I will bark and can be a bit tense, but I eventually warm up and will smell them and let them pet me. I am content being mellow but will play fetch with toys and have occasional energy spurts! Daily walks are one of my joys! When on walks I can get distracted and try to smell all the things and want to look and listen to all of the sites and sounds! My foster home says I have been "very enjoyable and easy foster thus far" and I would agree!
