Meet Hobo

Hobo has been fostered repeatedly by the same family. Here are some of their comments. Hobo was a delightful houseguest from the start. He rides well in the car. He has fully mastered the dog door and never had any indoor accidents. Hobo's temperament is active and engaged but gentle and attentive to direction. His foster days have always included a variety of dogs. Hobo enjoys sniffer walks and being near to those he trusts. He was always respectful of the adult dogs, but found some of them them overpowering as playmates. So far there is little prey drive in Hobo. Hobo is an affectionate boy and cheerfully accepts petting, hugging, and belly rubs. He is also cooperative during paw and ear checks (for burrs). We have been working on sit, touch, and wait at the gate. It's not hard to keep his attention with a dog cookie, or anything else he thinks is food. His interest is keen but he waits his turn (mostly) during group treats. Rescue Ranch puppies are raised through our puppy foster program. They will have met adults, children, often other dogs, maybe cats. 16-week or older puppies will have taken part in our "Reading to Rescue Pups" program and attended many events. When they are at least 8 weeks old, puppies are given a wellness exam by a licensed veterinarian. Before going home, all puppies will have been dewormed and received all age-appropriate vaccinations for parvo/distemper, and Bordetella. If they are 4 months or older they will also have their rabies vaccination. All p uppies are also microchipped and registered with 911PetChip . We require spay/neutering of puppies at 6-8 months old (or the appropriate age for giant breeds) by our veterinarian. The procedure is covered by the adoption fee. Alternatively, adopters can choose to have the procedure done by their own vet (proof required), and a portion of the cost will be refunded.
