Meet Hope
This dog is currently on our Call to Action List as she is very nervous in shelter and attempted to bite staff during a stressful intake. Since then, she has tolerated handling during evaluation and has met respectful dogs successfully. We'd love to find her a placement outside of the shelter ASAP where she will be better equipped to build confidence! Update 8/25: Hope has been showing more social behavior, including licking hands, accepting brushing, and tolerating more handling. She has been able to participate in playgroup with other similar sized dogs, and has been making friends with staff and volunteers. She is still looking for placement out of the shelter ASAP where she can continue to build more positive associations with people, and trust in a caregiver.
