Meet Imani

Imani is a female dog in need of a rescue, foster, or adopter who can provide continued medical care and appropriate handling support. Imani has a urinary tract infection (UTI) with a urinary bladder stone, as well as vaginitis secondary to a juvenile vulva. She has also demonstrated unpredictable behavior with handling, which can make medical treatment and examinations challenging. Imani will require continued veterinary care and management of her urinary condition. Treatment may include placement on a prescription urinary diet to help manage the bladder stone; however, if dietary management is unsuccessful or not appropriate, she may ultimately require a cystotomy (surgical removal of the bladder stone).Imani would benefit from a stable, experienced placement that can safely manage her handling needs while pursuing the necessary veterinary treatment and follow-up care. Imani is at risk for euthanasia due to her ongoing medical needs, potential need for surgical intervention, and challenges with safe handling, which make continued treatment difficult in the shelter environment.
