She’s the kind of dog who bonds deeply with her people and thrives when she’s included, engaged, and given plenty of activity. One of Iris’s sweetest quirks is how much she loves her crate. When you tell her it’s bedtime, she trots right in without hesitation. She also enjoys her daily walks and is used to going about two miles a day. With her current large yard, she’s mastered the art of zoomies — and she’ll happily show off her speed and enthusiasm. While Iris isn’t big on traditional dog toys, she does enjoy sneaking off with the cat’s toys instead. She knows basic cues like Sit , Stay , and Wait , and she’s eager to learn more with the right guidance. Iris is a classic Malamute: smart, stubborn, vocal, and full of drive. She can become overstimulated when she sees other dogs and tends to get loud and excited. She also likes to be the center of attention and may nudge other dogs away to claim her people. Because of this, she has had conflicts with female dogs in the past and would do best in a home without female dogs . She may do well with a calm, compatible male dog.
