Meet Iris

Meet Iris! This sweet Basset/Lab mix came to Safe Haven as an owner surrender alongside her sister, Nika, after their family experienced some unfortunate circumstances and could no longer care for them. Their lives changed quite suddenly when they arrived at the shelter, so it’s understandable that Iris can be a little nervous and unsure at first. She just needs a little time, patience, and reassurance to adjust to all the changes around her. Once Iris begins to feel safe and comfortable, her incredibly sweet personality starts to shine through. Iris truly is a loving girl who is looking for someone willing to give her the time she needs to decompress and show them who she really is. Iris and Nika can be adopted together if the perfect family comes along for both of them, but their previous family let us know they can also be adopted separately. Whether she finds a home with her sister or begins a new chapter on her own, Iris deserves a patient and loving family who will help her regain her confidence and remind her that good things are still ahead.
