Meet Ivy
Meet Ivy! Ivy is looking for her forever home! Ivy is a friendly, loving, and energetic Cavalier who absolutely adores her people. She is happiest when she can be by your side and would love a home where someone is around most of the day. Ivy is a wonderful companion and enjoys getting out for 1–2 mile walks, exploring the yard, and spending time with her humans. She travels well in the car and rides happily in the back seat. She is friendly with people and dogs she meets on walks and loves having dog friends, although she is confident and does not need another dog in the home. When she isn't out enjoying an adventure, Ivy is perfectly happy relaxing near her people. She is generally quiet, though she may bark when excited—and she has a particular talent for barking at dogs she sees on TV! A few of Ivy's favorite things: ❤️ Being with her people ‍♀️ Going for walks Running in a fenced yard ️ Chasing squirrels and bunnies All the treats—she is very food motivated! Playing with dog friends Car rides ️ Sleeping close to her people, preferably in bed with them Ivy is potty trained and knows the command “sit.” She occasionally enjoys playing with toys, but her favorite activity is simply being with her humans. Ivy's ideal home Ivy would do best with an active family who enjoys walks and wants a loving companion who will happily be part of their everyday life. A fenced yard would be wonderful for her, but it is not required—she does very well on leash. Ivy is a true people dog and wants to be with her humans as much as possible. She would do best with someone who is home most of the day rather than being left alone for long periods. She isn't a big fan of her crate and will bark in it and take some time to settle, so a home that doesn't require extensive crating would be ideal. She also prefers sleeping near her people rather than being separated from them. Ivy has a high prey drive and absolutely loves chasing squirrels, bunnies, and birds. She has not lived with cats, but because of her prey drive, a cat-free home would be the safest and best fit for her. Ivy is a sweet, affectionate, fun-loving girl who wants what every dog deserves: a family who will love her, include her, and make her part of their everyday life. If you're looking for a loving Cavalier who will happily accompany you on walks, snuggle up beside you, and enthusiastically greet you wherever you go, Ivy may be your girl! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.
