Meet Jackie

ADOPT JACKIE We sure hope you remember this most precious girl whose original name was candied yam. Jackie found herself in the open intake shelter in Philadelphia with a very significant facial wound. Her entire bottom mandible was to degloved. There was no explanation for how this injury occurred. There were no other wounds on her body. It was just a mystery. Jackie went through three “facelifts” to repair her degloved face which were mostly successful. Unfortunately, her bottom lip cannot be reattached as there was no tissue to attach it to inside of her mouth so she has a permanent pucker which we all find quite endearing. Jackie spent several months in a cone and a soft muzzle and tolerated that beautifully and showed us just what a good girl she really is. She is flourishing in Foster and is now ready for her Happy of her after. Jackie is a lovely red pit mix roughly 6 years old about 55 pounds and is the best snuggler on the planet! She’s learning to walk on leash, crate trained, house trained, spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on her vaccines and is simply the silliest goofiest girl. When she sees you, she turns into a Mexican jumping bean because all she wants to do is play and have zoomies in the yard and then cuddle on the sofa. As Jackie is the only dog in her foster home currently we would have to do a meet if there’s another dog in the adoptive home. This girl is truly special and the most deserving and so tolerant of all that she’s been through. It’s her time to shine.
