Meet Jamonica

Meet Jamonica! Personality: Wiggle-Butt LovebugJamonica is the kind of dog who makes being together feel easy. This sweet 4-year-old, 63-pound girl has a big, wiggly greeting, a welcoming nature, and a wonderful talent for making herself right at home wherever she goes. Jamonica is affectionate, happy, and easygoing. She walks beautifully on leash, enjoys exploring, and takes new experiences in stride. At a recent Doggy Day Out in Tiguex Park and around Old Town, she walked easily, passed other leashed dogs without showing much interest, and greeted strangers with a wagging tail and an expectant hello. She was happy to accept pets from people she met and seemed to enjoy being out in the world. Jamonica especially loves being close to her people. Whenever there was a pause in the action, she hops up and leans in for hugs and pets. Her affection is wonderfully companionable—more like a loving, well-mannered friend who simply enjoys being together than a dog who needs constant attention. She was equally at ease in a busy coffee shop, where she greeted patrons, accepted plenty of admiration, and then settled down quietly at her companion's feet. She was patient and relaxed while people chatted around her. Jamonica is also a quiet car passenger. At home, she explored the yard, happily greeted a new person, settled on a cushion, enjoyed some affection, and then took a nap. No counter surfing, table climbing, or household mayhem—just a sweet girl enjoying the opportunity to be part of things. Jamonica certainly knows how to have fun, likes chasing a ball now and then, but her greatest talent may be simply being a wonderful companion. She has the happy wiggles, the affectionate lean, and the easygoing personality to make an outing fun—and the ability to settle down and relax when the adventure is over.
