Meet Josie

Meet Josie, a sweet 2yr old female pitty who is ready to find the loving forever home she deserves. Josie came to us as a stray, so sadly, we do not have any information about her past or what her life was like before arriving in our care. What we do know is that she has received the very best care possible since coming to us. She arrived weighing just 25 pounds and has been steadily working toward a healthy weight. She currently weighs 38 pounds and is continuing to put on weight. Josie is a very sweet young lady who has been a joy to get to know. Because she is still gaining weight, she does tend to eat her meals quickly, so we would recommend a home with older children who can understand the importance of giving her space while she is eating. During her time with us, Josie has had the opportunity to participate in many playgroups and has done well meeting other dogs. She seems to be most comfortable with male dogs, so a meet-and-greet with any potential canine siblings would be recommended to make sure everyone is a good match. Josie is still a young dog and has plenty to learn. At this time, the only command she knows is “sit,” so some basic obedience training would be a wonderful opportunity for her. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, we believe Josie has all the potential to become a wonderful, well-mannered companion. Josie is up to date on her age-appropriate vaccines and is microchipped. She is currently in foster care with the intention of adoption and will be spayed prior to her adoption being finalized. Josie has already come a long way since arriving in our care, and now she is looking for someone who will continue to give her the patience, guidance, and love she deserves.
