Meet Juniper

All people inquiring about pets listed as Courtesy Listings on the EAPL website and/or EAPL posting adoption boards should contact the current pet owner/rescue/shelter for answers to any questions and for final approval and placement. I pulled her from the euthanasia list in South Carolina at 7 months old; since then she’s traveled from there to Vermont, to Milwaukee, here, and to a dog event in Indiana. A well-traveled gal Juni has the personality of a lab; she loves everyone she meets, and wants all the dog friends. She has lived with dogs of all sizes and cats. Her play style can be a little bit pushy but she takes corrections well and doesn’t take long to figure out how to be better friends to any dog she meets. She’s been to two different seminars, has a really nice foundation in obedience and nosework as well as some flyball foundations. She would be a wonderful low-level all-around sport dog for someone wanting to learn, with lifetime support from me (a trainer) and tons of recommendations of where to go and what to try. She’s also a kickass adventure dog, juni loves to be in the mountains and loves to swim. She’d totally rock backpacking trips if that’s your jam and climb a 14er with you. She’s prong-collar and e-collar conditioned; she’s a big girl at 70lbs so the prong is mostly for a little extra control (I’m small). The e-collar is aiding in proofing her off-leash skills as well as for training (happy to teach anyone interested). She absolutely could go to a home who doesn’t use these tools too, totally up to the adopter. She loves to play, we have built a lot of play skills so she enjoys both tug and fetch. She’s easy and quiet in a crate, understands threshold boundaries well and doesn’t have any separation anxiety. She’s also good around horses and has been to a horse show ! I don’t think it would take much to get her out trail riding if that’s your jam. Rehoming because we never truly clicked, I adore her but I want her to find her person. She deserves someone who thinks she’s the apple of their eye. I have endless nice things to say about this dog, happy to have people do trials, as many meet and greets as fits and answer all questions. Rehoming fee of $500, I’ve put easily $3000+ of training into her already so you’re getting a nice dog for a fraction of the price.
