Meet Kirby, a 1-year-old Shepherd mix who tips the scales at about 58 pounds of goofy charm and youthful energy. Kirby is the kind of dog who wakes up ready to make the day interesting, whether that means bouncing into a game of fetch, inventing his own zoomie choreography, or proudly showing off his “sit” like he’s just earned a gold medal. Smart as a whip and very treat motivated, he’s eager to learn and would love a family who’s excited to keep his brain busy and his tail wagging. Kirby is still very much in his young-dog era, which means he brings enthusiasm to everything he does. With consistency, structure, and plenty of positive reinforcement, he’s going to shine even brighter. He’d thrive with people who enjoy an active, engaged companion and who are ready for equal parts comedy and companionship. In return, Kirby offers loyalty, laughs, and a big-hearted presence that fills a home fast. His minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
